The Human Rights Ombudsman, Dr Zdenka Čebašek-Travnik, again invited the Minister of Health, Borut Miklavčič, to a working visit.
 
 
 
Accompanied by deputies Tone Dolčič and Ivan Šelih and co-workers, the Ombudsman talked with the Minister, his State Secretary, Dr Ivan Eržen, and Prim. Janez Remškar, Director-General of the Healthcare Directorate of the Ministry of Health, about issues that are directly or indirectly related to the protection of human rights and are to be dealt under the aegis of the Ministry of Health.   
 


They also discussed some solutions in the new Health Services Act, difficulties encountered in the implementation of the Mental Health Act and the Patients' Rights Act, hospital pedopsychiatric treatment and difficulties in providing health services in institutions for serving the sentence of imprisonment.  Furthermore, they touched upon open issues in the area of health insurance.

The Ombudsman acquainted the Minister with her views on issues relating to control over the provision of healthcare services.
