Human Right Ombudsman dr. Zdenka Cebasek - Travnik pointed out in a press release that efforts to solve the problems of people with disabilities were not proceeding fast enough.

She noted that the regulatory provision deadlines under the new act on equal opportunities of the disabled were too long, delaying the implementation of the act by as much as a year.

The ombudsman will thus keep a close eye on the preparations of the regulatory provisions and cooperate closely with organisations of the disabled, according to the press release.
