The National Assembly discussed on Friday the 2009 report by the human rights ombudsman, in which ombudsman dr. Zdenka Cebasek - Travnik wonders whether Slovenia is still a welfare state and whether it is governed by the rule of law.

The MPs paid particular attention to violations of worker's rights and the issue of equal opportunities.

In line with the ombudsman's recommendations, the deputies also discussed violations of rights of the most vulnerable groups, white-collar crime and responsibility of the state to provide for the respect of human rights.
