Ljubljana, 1 February (STA) - The National Assembly appointed on Friday Higher State Prosecutor Vlasta Nussdorfer human eights ombudsman with 82 votes in favour and 4 against. She was sworn in immediately after the vote and will take over from Zdenka Čebašek Travnik for a six-year term on 23 February.

Nussdorfer was nominated for ombudsman by President Borut Pahor. She has initiated several projects, including the White Ring, an association providing aid to crime victims.
